1st: Week 13 done. . Lauren did well with her blood draw and her counts still look good! ANC 1600, Platelets 202,000 and Hct 33%.
2nd: It will be a quick little post since I picked up a virus on our computer the end of last week and it's been at PC Laptops waiting to be fixed, should probably be done next Monday. Just checking on things while I am at my mom's today. You forget how handy it is to have a computer and the Internet, until you don't have if for a week+!
3rd: Being my usual klutz. . .I hurt my ankle rolling it off a curb while I was going to water aerobics at the gym. I ended up breaking the lateral aspect of my talus (sits between the fibula-leg bone and heal bone) for the 2nd time in 3 years! Talk about bad luck, thankfully I only need to wear a walking cast for 4 week, then physical therapy for a few weeks.
I think that's enough for one week! More later. . . once I get our computer back:)

Poor thing. . .
Chemo was completed yesterday. . .12 weeks down! Her ANC actually stayed up reasonably well and we were glad she could get her treatment. She woke up at night crying again, she doesn't ever feel super great the night of chemo, but seemed to be feeling better (at least this morning). Now she gets a break for 2 weeks. . .no actual chemo drugs, just lab draws at home with her port. She then gets a whopping dose again (both drugs and an antiemetic drug) + CXR and abdominal ultrasound on week #15.
They increased one of the chemo drugs yesterday and unfortunately we had our first nausea with vomiting episode while I was getting off the freeway today. It was a huge mess all over the car, Lauren, and her car seat. . .not to mention the lovely smell we all endured the rest of the ride home. Poor thing! She took her Zofran and is feeling much better now. So sad to see/hear her helplessly vomiting and no way to pull over (no shoulder). I was planning on giving her the Zofran as soon as we got home, because I thought she didn't feel quite right (it's hard to have a newly turned-three year old tell you what is wrong). I think it's just because they gave her a good increase in 1 of the chemo drugs. Plus whenever she gets them both at the same time she doesn't seem to feel quite right. Hopefully she will feel good tomorrow.

Week 11
7 weeks to go! Lauren's ANC is still going strong @ 1600. It will probably drop a bit more this week, hopefully not so much that she can't get her treatment though because we are looking forward to it ending the beginning of October.

Week 10
We finished week 10 today . . .only 8 more weeks to go. We are on schedule to finish the beginning of October, and lets hope it stays that way:) Lauren did better with her port accessing today, Rachelle the child life specialist was great and really worked on distraction today. Her count (ANC) was the highest it's ever been (2000). She is tired lately and has fallen asleep mid day a few times this week (and what 3 year old does that!), although she still refuses to take a nap. . .you can definitely see the fatigue side effect more lately.
